Marc Cox
Deputy Head Teacher
Hi, I am Marc Cox and I am extremely proud to be the Deputy Head Teacher at Kestrel House School. I am highly passionate about working with young people with ASD having worked for the past 17 years with children and adults with SEND.
My main role is to ensure pupils make the best possible progress towards their EHCP outcomes throughout their time at Kestrel House School. This has included creating the Nest to Flight Progression Framework, which focuses on the development of important life skills aimed at young people with a diagnosis of Autism.
I am also one of the deputy safeguarding leads; promoting pupil’s welfare as well as making sure the school is Health and Safety compliant. You will also find me in class supporting our learners to access the Kestrel House School curriculum, which is the best part of my job.
Sam Knight
Head of Education
As Head of Education at Kestrel House School, it is my aim to ensure that every learner is offered opportunities to learn and grow, that match their individual needs. Our highly skilled staff are constantly supported to be innovative in how they design and deliver learning experiences; we strive for our learning experiences to be enticing, enjoyable and meaningful for all of our learners.
The education that we provide for learners is focused on working towards individual EHCP outcomes, alongside core learning: Numeracy, Literacy, Science, Life Skills, PSHE, PE and Community Access.
I have been working as a teacher for over 10 years in both mainstream and SEN settings. My experience has helped me to learn that all learners deserve to feel safe and secure at school, and that they can access learning that builds on their strengths and interests. I consider it a privilege to work with, support and simply spend time with our learners every day, and it is also a privilege to have the opportunity to provide a curriculum for them to flourish at our school.
