Soft Play

Our Soft Play area is designed to provide sensory input through tactile, visual, proprioceptive, and vestibular activities. These can help maintain emotional regulation as part of a sensory diet. Participation in play activities can help develop gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and balance skills as well as social skills such as turn-taking and sharing.

Sensory Room

The Sensory Room is a special room designed to develop a person’s sense,
usually through special lighting, music, and objects. The sensory sessions help to promote self-organization and positive change.
The sensory room is there to create a safe space for the pupils and provide opportunities for engagement in prevention and crisis de-escalation strategies, as well as a host of other therapeutic exchanges to teach skills, offer a variety of therapeutic activities, etc. to promote self-care/self-nurturance, resilience & recovery.

Our Lifeskills room gives our pupils the opportunity to gain the skills of everyday tasks such as cooking and cleaning. With support, they cook meals, learn how to use the dishwasher, washing machine, iron, and other useful skills such as washing up and hoovering. Which helps them lead a more independent life.

Each class has made a class vision to show how they adapt their lessons suit to each learners’ needs. You can view our classes below:

We believe in our learners ability to: Nurture their compassion and understanding Grow their curiosity and ability to Harvest their independence. By having a gentle, patient, and flexible approach. Always with joy and laughter.

Our learners are individuals like the colours of the rainbow. We believe that their personalities are unique and that we will make their learning sensory and fun. Every step is a huge leap of progress which makes a difference to how we want them to explore their world. How they explore the world is through the opportunities and experiences that we offer each and every day as a team.

We want to create a calm learning environment which uses the creative and expressive arts to inspire learning and progress. We will give them every opportunity to be creative and explore different senses through our unique sensory approach. As a team we will work together to improve social and communication skills and prepare them for life as a young person.

We want to create an atmosphere of love and care for our learners so that we can grow together whilst preparing them to have a happy, safe, and meaningful life. We want to ensure that each learner feels understood and is able to appreciate their own unique value. We will enable each child to develop their capacity to communicate their needs effectively and appropriately We will equip our children for increased integration into the larger community We will empower each child by carefully exploring their individual possibilities for learning and personal growth.
